Jobing Description
This position is located on the Big Cypress Reservation

Performs specialized technical support for users, including troubleshooting and general computer support. Performs complex specialized technical support for client microcomputers and local area networks. Install new PC’s and associated software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide complex technical support to users in support of their daily business functions, either over the telephone or at user workstation.
• Troubleshoot and repair PC’s, printers, scanners, fax machines, and other hardware as needed.
• Ensure efficient computer interaction between systems/programs.
• Install and configure new software, remove software, and add, change or remove client accounts.
• Relocate personnel with hardware and other systems.
• Training users in basic PC skills or specific software programs as needed.
• Monitor network for access time performance. Configure network operating system for efficient interaction.
• Troubleshoot and correct system problems. Identify source of hardware or software problem and take appropriate corrective action.
• Participate as a team member of Information technology projects. May act as project lead on small PC related projects.
• Set-up clients with e-mail and schedule accounts in system. Ensure system is secure from unauthorized access.
• Provide network printer management. Manipulate print jobs in the printer queue, abort or cancel jobs as needed or requested, re-enable printer as required.
• Run tests and debug to ensure system runs correctly.
• Assist in telecommunications repair as needed/directed.
• Provide expert advice without formal supervisory responsibility.
• Provide backup support to department programs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to distinguish type of problem (application, system, etc.) and resolve or direct to appropriate division in the IT department.
• Knowledge of current principles of data processing and computer science systems and applications software, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, file/disk management, and memory management software products.
• Knowledge of data transfer utilities applications.
• Knowledge of PC hardware configurations, including storage devices, printers, graphics, communications, and related software.
• High level of customer service skills, and ability to fluctuate technical communication level to suit user’s needs.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products.
• Familiarity with operational characteristics of data processing equipment and peripherals, computer operating systems and network operating systems.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and provide logical and effective solutions;
• Ability to read, interpret and apply technical information from resource manuals.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to handle high stress level environment.
• High level of motivation, initiative and responsibility


Skills / Requirements
Education and Experience

(A) Graduation from high school or equivalent plus college-level course work in data processing, computer operations, or related field.

(B) One - three (1-3) years of related experience.

(C) A+ Certification.
